O'Neal was arrested for allegedly buying cocaine near her home.

"I was trying to relapse," O'Neal told People. "I made a giant, horrible mistake that I regret and feel really ashamed and embarrassed about. I take full responsibility."

New York judge Elisa Koenderman ordered O'Neal to spend two half-day sessions in a drug rehabilitation program and pay a fine of $95, and if O'Neal meets these conditions before her next court date (Sept. 4), the case will be dismissed.

Seriously, paying a $95 fine will get you out of a cocaine charge? Oh, to be a celebrity.

Reportedly, O'Neal pulled the old “Do you know who I am?” bit. Cops weren't biting. She then told the police, "’I'm researching a part – I’m doing this for a part as a junkie."

O'Neal was hauled off to the pokey, along with her drug dealer, Alan Garcia. There are also reports that 44-year-old O'Neal, who was once married to tennis star John McEnroe, had a crack pipe on her.

Tatum O'Neal has had a history of drug problems. She completed a stint in rehab in 1996. O'Neal was the youngest actress to ever win an Oscar for her role in Paper Moon at the age of 10.
