After eight levels of play during Day 1, which took place yesterday, there are now only 84 players remaining, including Bodog Poker pros David Williams and Justin Bonomo. Bonomo has found himself near the top of the leaderboard with, according to his Twitter (@JustinBonomo), 87,900 in chips, while Williams is just above average with 48,000 in chips, also according to his Twitter (@dwbodogpro). Also among those still in the field are Jimmy Fricke, Theo Tran, Dutch Boyd, Kelly Kim, Toto Leonidas, Brandon Cantu, John Phan, Alan Smurfit, Lee Markholt and a bunch more.

Play resumes at Noon today Vegas time and will continue until the final table is set. Players will all be chasing the $246,928 first-place prize as well as the 2009 Caesars Palace Classic trophy. Bodog Poker pro Evelyn Ng took some time out of her schedule to sit down and give us a quick update on her life. Inbetween moving, travelling and surprise visitors, she's been pretty busy lately and it doesn't look like it's slowing down any time soon. Evy is headed to San Francisco for the DJ Hero press pre-release party. Then, before heading off to Europe to possibly play in some events over there, she needs to head back home to Toronto to renew her passport. However, it sounds like more tournament poker play is definitely in the cards for her soon.

Bodog Poker pro David Williams was recently back in Las Vegas after playing in the Partouche Poker Tour in Cannes, France, and talks about his deep run in the event and his experience at the EPT Barcelona. After a friends wedding in Vegas, he's now in London for the 2009 WSOP Europe and will then play the EPT London event. Once back on this side of the pond, he's off to a MAGIC tournament in Austin, Texas. For Bellande, today is not only the "getting prepped for the WSOP Europe" day, but it is also his birthday. So, happy birthday to Jean-Robert. Looks like to celebrate this erstwhile occasion, Bellande is heading to the famous London shopping mecca Harrod's to get decked out for a Jay-Z concert tonight. While DW has been fairly silent on his Twitter (@dwbodogpro OR @dwpoker) for the past few days (except to share this gem of a video), we do know that the last we heard he was wrapping up the EPT Barcelona and planning on being in London for the WSOP Europe:

Based on what we know about DW, we wouldn't be surprised if he ran into Bellande tonight at the Jay-Z show. We'll have to keep an eye on Twitter to see what rock star antics these two get up to in London. Let's start with DW. In the past month alone, he has been in Cannes, France, to play the Partouche Poker Tour championship event, Barcelona, Spain, to play in the EPT Barcelona event and will now be in London in a few days to play in the WSOP Europe.

Bellande has been playing in the Bellagio poker room for a few weeks building up a bankroll and also made the trip to Cannes with DW for the PPT event. He is now in Cyprus for the WPT Merit Cyprus Championship and, based on his Twitter updates, looks like he could be heading to Tel Aviv any day now.

On the other hand, Bonomo is on this side of the pond and taking a bit of a break from poker. He's been out to concerts (Kings of Leon for one) and to UFC fights. And now, as we speak, he is in Mexico City with some friends to watch Mexico play Honduras in a World Cup qualifier match.

While Evy has been mostly in Vegas, she is moving from her super nice condo poolside at Panorama to a really sick place on the 37th floor at Panorama that has an amazing view of the strip. She's also been playing ridiculous amount of Guitar Hero 5 and the new Rock Band: Beatles and also attended a Red Octane (makers of Guitar Hero) function for the new game DJ Hero.

Sar flew to Vegas in time to play in Day 1C of the Main Event and 6,409 players later, on Day 6 of the tournament and eight days after first sitting down to play poker, his run came to an end. This is the PokerNews account on how that came about:

Alper Sar was all in preflop holding pocket tens against Ben Lamb's {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}. Sar was all in for 550,000.

The board ran out {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {2-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} and Sar was eliminated from the tournament.

Congratulations to Sar and all Team Bodog members, quite an impressive performance and we're sure we'll see you on the European Poker Tour soon.

As of time of publish, there is one hour left in the last level and still 70 players remaining. There will be anew champion this year as 2008 WSOP champion Peter Eastgate has busted out. He is joined by Joe Hachem, David Benyamine and Nichoel Peppe, leaving Leo Margets as the last woman standing.

First things first, Team Bodog poker player Alper Sar has been moved directly to the right of poker pro Antonio Esfandiari and has chipped up quite a bit since we last saw him. He is now sitting at 1.9 million in chips, which is right at average for the room.

We've lost a few good men today, including Theo Tran, Blair Hinkle, Bertrand "elKy" Grospellier, JC Tran and Joe Hachem. However, we have managed to hang on to poker pros Joe Sebok, Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, Tom Schneider, Jeff Shulman, Dennis Phillips, Peter Eastgate, Noah Boeken, Kenny Tran and Prahlad Friedman.

There are still two women remaining in the field and they are Leo Margets and Nichoel Peppe.

Sar enters the day with 691,000 in chips, and while the average chip stack right now is just a shade over $1 million, there will be quite a bit of movement as players look to solidify their positions and that makes for a lot of opportunities to cash on even the most minor of errors. One double-up and he's above average. Sounds easy, right?

Anyway, the Turkish investment banker actually won four WSOP Main Event seats through some other inferior poker room but chose to take Bodog Poker's $12,000 WSOP VIP package because of all that it came with. He will be seated with CardPlayer magazine's Jeff Shulman today, managing to avoid most of the big names left in the field.

Speaking of those big names, there are several storylines involving them. As usual, the perennial question as to whether or not a poker pro will make the final table or win the event revolves around Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, Tom Schneider, Blair Hinkle, Bertrand "elKy" Grospellier, Fabrice Soulier, Joe Sebok, Theo Tran, JC Tran, Antonio Esfandiari, Noah Boeken and Blair Rodman. Then there's Dennis Philips, can he make a back-to-back appearance in the Novermber Nine? Along those same lines, can Peter Eastage repeat as WSOP champion? Will Joe Hachem become a two-time WSOP champion?
