Even before the teams took to the field, the winless Tennessee Titans had to know that they were in for a world of hurt against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. But a 59-0 thrashing is downright humiliating. In fact, it's the Titans WORST loss in franchise history.

Last year, the Titans' 13-3 record was the best in the NFL. This year's 0-6 record puts Tennessee in the basement.

Brady had six touchdown passes on the day — five in the second quarter — and threw for 380 yards to lead the Patriots to the NFL's biggest margin of victory in over 30 years. Wes Welker and Randy Moss showed up big time as well. Welker caught 10 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns, while Moss caught eight passes for 129 yards and three touchdowns.

"You never go into a game thinking it's going to be like this," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. "It's just our day today."

Bettors who jumped on this on had to like the outcome as well. The Patriots were a 9-point favorite in the game and easily covered the spread. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (38.5).

If you are a betting backer of one of the six NFL teams still without a win through four weeks, you probably are tired of losing your money on that team. And you certainly can forget about the playoffs if your club is 0-4, as just one team since 1990 that started with four losses has made it to the postseason (the 1992 Chargers).

The last winless NFL team will be…?
Get your NFL team props at Bodog.

So the folks at Bodog Sportsbook have come up with a good NFL prop on which you maybe can make some of your money back. You can wager on the site on which of those six teams will be the last to get a victory this year.

Let's take a look at the top bottom six:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+225): That the Bucs are "favored" to win this prop is a tad surprising to me. Maybe it shouldn't be. Tampa Bay has no direction at quarterback, with Josh Johnson basically holding the job until 2009 first-round pick Josh Freeman is ready. The Bucs aren't very good on offense (28th in points per game) or defense (25th in points allowed). They may not be favored in a game the rest of the season, and they certainly won't win this week at Philly. But Week 6 against Carolina is a possibility even though Tampa Bay has won just one of its past six at home against the Panthers. Other than that Week 9 off a bye against Green Bay seems a shot for Tampa Bay. I don't think the Bucs make it to Week 10 without a loss.

St. Louis Rams (+250): That St. Louis isn't the favorite to be the last winless team definitely is a surprise. It has dropped an NFL-high 14 games and managed just 24 points this year to go with the worst point differential in the league at minus-84. Unlike the Bucs, Browns or Chiefs on this list, the Rams do have an elite running back in Steven Jackson. But the Rams' QB situation might be the worst in the league, because they don't even have a future guy in place and Marc Bulger just isn't cutting it when healthy. The game everyone is pointing to for this team is Week 8 at Detroit, with the loser quite possibly getting the No. 1 pick in the draft. I say the smart money among the winless teams should go on St. Louis.

Cleveland Browns (+250): The Browns just aren't this bad. And they might get better by trading Braylon Edwards, who had become a major distraction, headache and pass-dropping nightmare. Cleveland has a winnable game this week at Buffalo, then another one in Week 7 at home against the Packers.

Kansas City Chiefs (+400): This is a young team with a lot of talent that simply needs to learn how to win – something the Chiefs have done only twice since Week 8 of the 2007 season. Matt Cassel clearly isn't comfortable in the offense yet, and the Chiefs have dropped eight in a row at home. But don't count out an upset this week against Dallas. If not, Week 9 or 10, at Jacksonville and at Oakland, respectively, could be the Chiefs' first win.

Tennessee Titans (+1200): Everything that could go wrong has for the Titans. Just a year ago they led the NFL in wins; now they actually have lost six in a row counting last year's playoffs. Kerry Collins has six picks already after having seven all last year. The defense really misses Albert Haynesworth, ranking 31st against the pass and allowing 27 points a game after giving up just 16 per last year. But there's way too much veteran pride for this to continue much longer – look for an upset of the Colts this week.

Carolina Panthers (+1600): The Panthers seem very solid at every position but the most important one: quarterback. They also have something over these other teams don't, and that's three losses instead of four. Last week's bye came at just the right time for Carolina and QB Jake Delhomme. They will beat the Redskins this week or the Bucs next, so the oddsmakers were wise to list the Panthers as the longest shots.

To summarize, the Rams are probably the most likely team to win this prop, but the Chiefs might provide the best value. K.C. does have one benefit at home, however, that St. Louis won't soon: the elements could help the Chiefs slow down and upset a better team, while the Rams play indoors.

Now that the preseason is over, it is time for the real Indianapolis Colts to take the field. The Colts, who were 1-3 in preseason, open up as 7-point favorites against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This won't be an easy one for Peyton Manning and company, as the Jags are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings in Indianapolis. The last time these teams hooked up, Manning threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-24 win last December.

The Houston Texans got some good news as they get ready to take on the New York Jets on Sunday. Star cornerback Dunta Robinson ended his holdout and signed the one-year deal the team had been offering all along. The Texans are listed as 4.5-point favorites.

The Tennessee Titans know last season is long gone and Thursday night's NFL season opener with the Pittsburgh Steelers is the start of the chase for a new championship.

In my opinion, the Tennessee Titans were vast overachievers in 2008, and that was proven out by the team's home playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Remember, this club went just 3-4 (including that playoff defeat) after starting 10-0. I am willing to bet anything that this club doesn't approach the best record in the league again in 2009.

Oh, the Titans will be a playoff contender. However, Tennessee's offense was too predictable with Kerry Collins at quarterback and no real deep threats at receiver last year, and it's not clear if that problem has been fixed. The team lured Nate Washington from Pittsburgh to start opposite Justin Gage at receiver, but Washington hurt his hamstring in camp and may miss the early part of the season. And we all know how hamstring injuries can linger. Look for rookie Kenny Britt to play a big role in the passing game.

This team is as set at running back as any NFL club with Chris Johnson and a much-slimmer LenDale White. But won't teams be stacking eight in the box just daring Collins to beat them?

Certainly the team's best defensive player in 2008 was tackle Albert Haynesworth, and he's now in Washington. He was basically the hub of everything the Titan defense was in 2008, so that loss will be felt.

In addition, much of the team's front seven is beginning to age. The secondary should again be a strength, however, led by cornerback Cortland Finnegan.

Remember the Titans when you're looking for value.

Here is the Titans' 2009 schedule, and we'll break it down after:
Sept. 10 at Pittsburgh Steelers, 8:30 p.m.
Sept. 20 vs. Houston Texans, 1 p.m.
Sept. 27 at New York Jets, 1 p.m.
Oct. 4 at Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m.
Oct. 11 vs. Indianapolis Colts, 8:20 p.m.
Oct. 18 at New England Patriots, 4:15 p.m.
Week 7: Bye
Nov. 1 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, 4:05 p.m.
Nov. 8 at San Francisco 49ers, 4:15 p.m.
Nov. 15 vs. Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m.
Nov. 23 at Houston Texans, 8:30 p.m.
Nov. 29 vs. Arizona Cardinals, 1 p.m.
Dec. 6 at Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m.
Dec. 13 vs. St. Louis Rams, 1 p.m.
Dec. 20 vs. Miami Dolphins, 1 p.m.
Dec. 25 vs. San Diego Chargers, 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 3 at Seattle Seahawks, 4:15 p.m.

Strength of schedule: 14th (opponents combined to go 130-126, .508, in 2008)
Projected record: 10-6
Bodog over/under total: 9
Bodog odds to win AFC South: 23/10
Bodog odds to win AFC: 10/1
Bodog odds to win Super Bowl XLIV: 20/1

On the positive side, the Titans do get to play last year's weakest division with four contests against the NFC West, whose teams were 10-30 in non-division games in 2008. But then so does the rest of the AFC South.
That Thursday night national TV opener against Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh is the first time the Titans have been featured in the Thursday night opening game of the regular season. Pittsburgh, of course, lost the top seed in the AFC last year with its late loss in Tennessee.

Including that Steelers game, four of the Titans' first six games are on the road, and the two home games in that stretch are against rising Houston and perennial power Indianapolis, which will be looking to reclaim the South this year. That could mean something like a 2-4 opening for the Titans, because they surely don't seem likely to win in Pittsburgh or New England. A split of the other four might be an accomplishment.

Tennessee's best chance to go on a roll would seem to come after the bye. The first four following the bye week are against teams that finished at .500 or worse in 2008. The Titans may need to go 4-0 in that stretch if they start as I expect.

By the way, pay close attention to that season finale at Seattle. With all that travel, that could be a major factor if Tennessee then has to turn around and play a wild-card game the following Saturday. The Titans closed with Indy the past two seasons, and both of those games meant nothing to at least one of the teams. I have a feeling that Seattle one could be for a wild-card spot.

It's probably now or never for this group, as for the most part the 2008 team is back. A true overhaul and youth movement (which may even in include Vince Young) might be waiting in 2010.

The Cleveland Browns will host the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night. Bodog is liking the odds for a very competitive game, listing it as a pick 'em.

The Titans come into the game with 2-1 record in the preseason, while the Browns stand at an even 1-1 and come off a resounding win over the Detroit Lions last week.

The Titans suffered their first loss of the preseason last week to the Dallas Cowboys.

Eric Mangini probably won't name his starter for the Titans game until an hour before kickoff, but if he continues his current rotation, Brady Quinn will get the nod. That also would give him and Derek Anderson a start at home and on the road.

If Quinn starts, it doesn't mean he's won the starting job.

In the fourth and final preseason game, Sept. 3 in Chicago, the starters play only about a series, making the Titans game all the more crucial.

The Tennessee Titans will head to Dallas to square off against the 3-point favored Cowboys in a nationally televised preseason game on FOX.

The Titans are 2-0 in preseason so far, after wins against the Bills and then last week at home against the Buccaneers. In that game, QB Vince Young was 9-of-14 for 131 yards and a touchdown, while starter Kerry Collins was just 4-of-9 for 37 yards and two interceptions.

The Cowboys are 0-1 after getting crushed by the Raiders 31-10 in Oakland last Thursday. The good news for Dallas backers is that Tony Romo got off to a good start, completing 4-of-6 passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. WR Sam Hurd also had a productive night, hauling in five passes.

Betting trends favor Tennessee in this matchup, as the Titans are 13-4 ATS as a road underdog of 7 points or less.

Vince Young had an inconsistent performance in a 21-18 win over the Buffalo Bills in the NFL preseason-opening Hall of Fame Game on Sunday night.

He will look to put forth a better effort when the Tennessee Titans play their second preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday night.

The Titans are currently listed as 3.5-point favorites.

Tampa Bay will be without receiver Antonio Bryant, who has a torn meniscus in his left knee that will sideline him for the remainder of training camp.

Bryant will undergo arthroscopic surgery and is expected to be ready to play in the regular-season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 13.

TE Kellen Winslow missed a practice with an ankle sprain and struggled with the heat, but he had a monster week of practice, catching several touchdowns in team work and creating mismatches wherever he lined up. Now he just has to do it in a game.

Before you watch Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game, take a moment to remember the past on Saturday.

The Hall of Fame’s honor roll will grow to 253 with the enshrinement of Bob Hayes, Randall McDaniel, Bruce Smith, Derrick Thomas, Ralph Wilson, Jr., and Rod Woodson.

Hayes, while playing for the Dallas Cowboys, proved a track man could succeed in a contact sport. McDaniel had a streak of 202 consecutive starts and earned 12 straight Pro Bowl berths.

Smith was a dominant player during his 19 playing seasons with the Buffalo Bills and the Washington Redskins. Thomas, a member of the NFL's All-Decade Team of the 1990s, was named first-team All-AFC seven times during an eight-year stretch.

Wilson, Jr. was the man responsible for reintroducing pro football to Western New York when he formed the Buffalo Bills in 1959. Finally, Woodson recorded 71 interceptions; 1,483 interception return yards; 2,362 punt return yards; and 17 touchdowns.
