With 2009 now fully underway, Bodog Poker is once again looking to reward the most successful players at its online poker tables by offering incredible prizes for the top finishers on the Weekly, Monthly and Yearly Tournament Leader Board.

On a weekly basis, the player finishing on top of the Weekly TLB will get to face off against one of the Bodog Poker pros — David Williams, Evelyn Ng, Justin Bonomo, or Jean-Robert Bellande — in a heads-up freeroll match for $1,000. If the Bodog pro wins, the pot continues to grow until a Weekly TLB winner takes it all home. In the past, the prizepool for this tournament has grown to as much as $16,000.

By finishing on top of the Monthly TLB, online poker players will be entered into a two-table six-handed Sit and Go on Sunday, January 24th, 2010 at 3pm ET. The top two players from this tournament will each win a $12,000 Main Event prize package. If a player wins two or more months during the year, this player will win T$2000 for his subsequent wins and the second-place finisher that month will be invited to play in the finale.

The Yearly TLB winner will automatically receive a $12,000 Main Event Prize Package with second place receiving T$3,000 down through T$500 for 10th place. Players who finish from 11th to 100th place win entry to the T$5,000 "Yearly TLB Freeroll" to be hosted on Sunday, January 24th, 2010, at 3:30pm ET.

To top and of the different Tournament Leader Boards and win prizes, players need to earn points. Every time they play in a tournament, the number of entrants, the buy-in and their finishing rank determine exactly how these points are distributed and where they'll end up on the board. Roughly who gets points? The top 20% of finishers per tournament.

To see all of the details, head over to the Tournament Leader Board info page and get started on your way up the tables.

One more week of 2008 is in the books which means that one more online poker player had the chance to take on a Bodog poker pro in a heads-up match for a serious chunk of change as part of the ongoing Weekly TLB promotion.

This time around Bodog regular "illshiz" – the November 10 – 16 weekly TLB winner – took on Bodog poker pro Justin Bonomo for the grand prize of $5,000. After a back and forth match, "illshiz" was able to capture his first TLB Weekly victory and that nice payday. This brings Bonomo's record in TLB matches to 6 wins and 3 losses.

Weekly TLB winners get to play a heads-up match against one of the Bodog poker pros for at least $1,000. Each week a pro wins that money rolls over to the next week for the following weekly winner to take a shot at.

If you focus on the Weekly TLB competition you'll also be working your way up the Monthly TLB. So, what’s the big deal about topping the Monthly Leader Board? Well, the 12 Monthly TLB Winners in 2008 will all get to play in a two-table six-handed Sit-and-Go in early 2009 where the top two players win a $12,000 prize package to a major live event of their choice. If a player wins two or more months throughout the year, this player would win T$2000 for his 2nd win and the 2nd place finisher that month will be invited to play in the finale.

Check out Bodog’s Tournament Leader Board and make sure to get in on this last chance to get a seat in that coveted two-table freeroll.

As we reported yesterday, Sept 29 – Oct 5 Weekly TLB Winner and Team Bodog alumnus Johnathan "UFPokerStar" Westra was set to take on Bodog poker pro Evelyn Ng in a heads-up match. Well, Westra won his match, breaking the Bodog pros winning streak at five matches and earning himself the $6,000 cash prize.

The back and forth match lasted over 80 hands and at one point Westra was down to only 295 chips, but doubled up quickly and kept chipping away at Evy. Westra remained patient and finally got it to pay off when he entered a hand holding Q-9 on a board of 9-7-Q. As Evy was holding Q-7, all the money went in the middle in a hurry and Westra's hand held up, giving him the chip lead.

That hand crippled Evy down to 800 chips and she could never recover. The match ended 5 hands later when Evy pushed all in with A-4 and was called and outdrawn by Westra's K-J. The board came Q-9-10-9-3 giving him the straight, the match and the $6,000.

Climb your way up the Bodog Poker TLB for weekly chances to play poker pros for cash and win tons of other great TLB prizes for topping the monthly and yearly TLB.

Westra gets the opportunity to play for this impressive cash prize because he racked up the most points in the Bodog Poker room for the week and the Bodog pros have successfully defended their honor for five straight weeks, rolling the normal $1,000 jackpot over and over to this point. This is the largest the TLB heads-up prize has reached so far this year.

The match takes place tonight at 7pm ET in teh Bodog Poker room under the Sit and Go Tournament Lobby at the "TLB Heads-Up Challenge" table.

Ng is just one of the Bodog poker pros who have a winning percentage in these matches at 32 -21, so Westra will have an uphill battle to take home that $6,000. In fact, the pros have an overall winning percentage of 52 – 33.

As part of Bodog Poker's ongoing Tournament Leader Board contest, online poker player "WillyNilly" will take on Bodog poker pro Evelyn Ng heads-up tonight in the Bodog Poker room for finishing atop the TLB for the week of September 15 to 21. On the line for "WillyNilly" will be a $4,000 cash prize, thanks to three straight losses against Bodog pros in the TLB heads-up series.

While Evy's poker chops are wicked as always, "WillyNilly" should be glad he's not facing her in a Guitar Hero contest. While you may need fortuitous turn or river cards to help you get a bit lucky against Evy in poker, we've personally seen just how brutally she destroys the opposition in Guitar Hero….still makes us shudder. In fact, Evy just was given the priviledge of heading to NeverSoft HQ to preview the new Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Anyway, we digress. Needless to say, "WillyNilly" will have his work cut out for him tonight and if you want to watch him fight for his $4k, then head over to the Bodog Poker room at 7pm ET and look under the "Sit and Go Tournament" tab for the table "TLB Heads-Up Challenge."

New-ish Team Bodog poker pro Justin "zeejustin" Bonomo will be playing in his second Tournament Leader Board Heads-Up battle this evening at 7 p.m. EST. Bonomo will face the TLB winner for the week of May 19-25, "alienface," with $1,000 on the line. In his first heads-up match, Bonomo won handily against "fitzfitz," so he technically has a perfect TLB record right now, albeit 1-0.

If you want to watch Bonomo put his perfect TLB record to the test (see how that works), then log into the Bodog software (if you don't have it, get it here) and go to the Sit n Go Lobby and look for the "TLB Heads-Up Challenge" table.

If you want to take a crack at Bonomo over the virtual felt, then get in on some online poker tournament action and work your way up the Bodog weekly tournament leader board and get a free crack at one of Bodog's poker pros and some serious dough.
