Unseeded Kim Clijsters won her second U.S. Open women’s singles title, beating No. 9 Caroline Wozniacki 7-5, 6-3 on Sunday night.

Clijsters won as a -450 favorite and became the first unseeded woman to win the Open.

The men's final goes later today.

Roger Federer moved one victory away from his sixth straight U.S. Open title with a 7-6 (3), 7-5, 7-5 victory over Novak Djokovic on Sunday.

The world’s top-ranked player punctuated the victory Sunday with a winner, hit backward between his legs, to set up match point.

Federer will play No. 6 Juan Martin del Potro, who defeated Rafael Nadal earlier in the day to make his first Grand Slam final.

Federer has now reached the final of 17 of the last 18 Grand Slam tournaments. He is listed as a -450 favorite to win today.

Apparently, Serena said to the lineswoman, "I swear to God, I'll fucking take this ball and shove it down your fucking throat."

After officials discussed with an irate Serena about what went down, Serena audibly yelled, "I didn't say I would kill you are you serious?"

Then, a teary-eyed Williams threw her racket down, shook hands with Clijsters and stormed off the court to a chorus of boos.

During a press conference about the incident, when asked about what she'd actually said to the lineswoman, Serena said that she "didn’t remember anymore" and that what happened was "in the moment."

Serena refused to make a statement on the exact conversation between her and the officials.

Her loss to Elena Dementieva in Toronto represented her first tournament final since Sharapova returned to tour after missing nearly 10 months of singles action because of a right shoulder injury. Even though Sharapova's ranking just got back into the top 30, be on the lookout for a long string of upsets. She will be a fan favorite, returning to Flushing Meadows after missing the 2008 U.S. Open after having shoulder surgery in October.

Besides, any tournament with Sharapova playing is worth checking out. She may have lost some game but makes up for it in looks.

Venus has not won a Grand Slam title outside of Wimbledon since 2001, when she won her second U.S. Open championship in a row. She last made the final at Flushing Meadows in 2002, when she lost to sister Serena. Maybe tennis is not that important anymore now that the Williams sisters bought a small stake in the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

Odds are pretty good that either Venus or Serena will be winning this year's title. But there is no way they will meet in the final since they are on the same side of the draw.

Currently she is listed at +175 to win it all this year.

Serena can seem lost at regular tour stops as she failed to win once this year in 11 non-Slam events and fell in the first round three times.  But her competitive fire burns bright at the majors.

Serena cannot reclaim the No. 1 spot even if she lifts the trophy in New York and Dinara Safina suffers a first-round exit.

She also can't meet her sister in the final. Serena and Venus are in the same half of the field.

After that there is Venus Williams, the elder sister, who is always a contender.

Venus hasn't won the U.S. Open since 2001, and her results this summer have been spotty. Still, she is pegged at +500 to win and you can't ignore Vegas.

Kim Clijsters (+1200) is back after a two-year maternity leave, and the women's game needs her. Elena Dementieva (+700) has a much-improved serve, but more importantly, she has more confidence after playing an outstanding Wimbledon match against Serena Williams and winning the title in Montreal.

Dinara Safina (+1000) aims to prove she is deserving of the No. 1 ranking and a Grand Slam title sure would help quiet the naysayers.

Many think that Federer and Rafael Nadal will meet in the U.S. Open final for the first time. It’s the only Grand Slam tennis final in which they’ve never met.

Nadal is pegged at +650 to overcome his recent injuries to take the title.

Andy Murray is another solid bet this year. He has a match record of 53-8 this year and is listed at +333 to win.

Other notables include Novak Djokovic (+1100), who hasn’t been past the quarterfinals at any of this year’s major tournaments, and Andy Roddick (+1100), who is the only U.S. man seeded in the top 20.

Throw in Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (+4000) and Marat Safin and it is clear that Federer's road to another title won't be as easy as one might think.

The final round of the US Open has resumed and it's still anyone's guess as to who will win. Lucas Glover and Ricky Barnes have their eyes set on the trophy as they started the day in the top two spots, but with Phil Mickelson and Mike Weir on the hunt and Tiger Woods still lurking (but just barely, mind you) — betting on US Open is almost as tough as playing in it.
