Go ahead and call Saturday's Utah-TCU game the $17 million matchup, because that's basically what the Mountain West stands to lose should the Utes upset the Frogs and knock them from a BCS bowl. However, Texas Christian is a 20-point favorite on Bodog's college football odds.

Certainly history indicates that Utah could win here, as it holds a 5-1 all-time edge in the series and has won the past three. Last year's 13-10 Utes victory was a big deal because TCU is now 60-1 under coach Gary Patterson when holding an opponent to 17 points or less – that one loss obviously being last year. And while TCU has a 12-game home winning streak, the last team to win in Fort Worth was Utah back in 2007.

Since the start of last season, Utah is 10-1 on the road. In those games, the Utes have allowed an average of 15 points and more than 23 points just once. And here’s a crazy stat: The Utes are 7-0 all-time in games in which they and the opponent are ranked. So you may want to take the 20 points on Bodog's college football odds.

However, TCU has been nothing short of dominant of late. It has outscored its past four opponents 178-25, allowing just two TDs. TCU is allowing just 203.7 yards per game in four home games this season and just 50.5 yards per game rushing (1.9 per carry). That stellar defense should befuddle Utah freshman QB Jordan Wynn, who makes just his second start.

TCU's running game could have success – the Frogs are No. 6 in the nation in rushing at 242 yards per game, while Utah has allowed more than 200 yards rushing in five games this season.

Louisville seems unlikely to end Utah's 12-game home winning streak on Saturday, but will the Cards cover? Not if they don't solve their red zone woes – they are tied for 92nd in Division I in red-zone efficiency, scoring points on 10 of 14 trips. Only five of those have been touchdowns. And it's not like Louisville has faced tough competition so far, having beaten Indiana State and lost to Kentucky.

Will the altitude affect the Cards this week? Not if you listen to coach Steve Kragthorpe, who grew up in Utah and had a great quote on the altitude: "We're not freaking going to play on Mount Everest here. We're going to 4,200 feet. It's not that big of a deal."

Kragthorpe, by the way, is 0-2 in his collegiate coaching career against the Utes, with his Tulsa team falling in 2006 and his Louisville team doing the same the next year.

Look for UL to try and focus on the running game to start out. Last year, the Utes allowed just one team to crack 200 yards on the ground, but this year Utah State (221) and Oregon (217) already have surpassed that mark — the Utes rank just 78th nationally against the run. Louisville averages 154.5 yards on the ground behind sophomore Victor Anderson (6.2 yards per carry, three TDs).

The Cards will be without a key player on defense this week. Starting safety Terrence Simien is out indefinitely with a lacerated kidney suffered against Kentucky. He had an interception and fumble recovery and was tied for third on the team with 10 tackles. Louisville's defense gives up just 93.5 yards per game on the ground.

Utah is one of the better running teams in the country behind Matt Asiata, who leads the Mountain West Conference in rushing. He was limited last week with a shoulder injury but should be back to around 85-90 percent health this week, according to coach Kyle Whittingham. In addition, Whittingham said this week that he wants QB Terrance Cain to stretch the field more. Cain has just 10 passes of more than 20 yards this season and had just two last week in the loss to Oregon.

Hill averages 18.5 points and 11 rebounds, yet his biggest chore today might come on the defensive end. If he can find a way to elevate to the level of Nevill, who averages 16.9 points and 9.1 rebounds on 61 percent shooting, the Wildcats might be in good shape.

Alabama will certainly be ready for Utah’s offense. The Utes are coached by Kyle Whittingham, who was with Urban Meyer when Meyer coached the Utes to prominence in 2004 with an undefeated season. Now Meyer is the coach at Florida, which beat Alabama in the SEC championship game. Alabama should be ready for what Utah is going to do offensively.

If Utah can win it will make a huge statement for non-BCS teams. Lose badly, and the BCS will have another case to flex its muscles over the non-BCS conferences.

The win allows the Utes to keep their undefeated record in tact while TCU moves to 9-2.

Utah's Freddie Brown was on the receiving end of the game-winning touch down in front of a Salt Lake City crowd.

Elsewhere in early action on Saturday were the No. 4-ranked Texas Longhorns defeating Baylor 45-21 while the UNC Tar Heels took down Georgia Tech 28-7.
