But a struggling Wake Forest offense might be just what the Canes need – the Deacons have scored just one offensive touchdown in the past two games, losses to Clemson and Navy, after previously leading the ACC in total offense. Thus UM is a 7-point favorite on Bodog’s college football odds.

Wake QB Riley Skinner has been pretty bad in the past two losses, completing 24 of 49 passes for 255 yards with one touchdown and two picks. However, the UM defense will be missing several key players on Saturday. Linebacker Sean Spence, the team’s best defensive player, defensive end Eric Moncur and safety Ray Ray Armstrong all have been ruled out because of various injuries. So has running back Javarris James.

The Demon Deacons have won four straight at home this season and nine of their past 10 home ACC games. Skinner threw for at least 360 yards and three TDs in Wake’s previous two home games; he is 51 yards shy of becoming just the second ACC quarterback to throw for 2,000 or more yards in four seasons (Philip Rivers). But Miami has won the past five in this series, including 16-10 last season.

The Deacons have just 19 wins as a school against ranked teams, but under Coach Jim Grobe they have won four of the past eight against Top-25 schools. When deciding which way to go with those college football odds on this one, use 24 as the magic number. When Wake Forest scores 24 points, it is 47-14 under Grobe, including 4-1 this year. When scoring less than 24, Wake is 11-34 under Grobe and 0-3 in 2009.

Only three current Cleveland State players were alive when the Vikings became the first No. 14 seed to win a tournament game. But they’re well aware of the history.

This is only the second time the Vikings have made the tournament, and again they’re considered long shots to survive the opening round.

Cleveland State averages 66 points a game and has only one starter taller than 6-foot-5, while Wake Forest (8-point faves) averages 81 points and has a front line that’s 7-foot, 6-9 and 6-9.

The Vikings are on a roll, winning four games in eight days for their first Horizon League championship and are 5-1 ATS in their last six non-conference games.

Led by Jeff Teague and James Johnson, Wake Forest boasts the fifth-best scoring offense in the nation, but each struggled to get on track in Saturday's 70-60 win over Virginia.

The Demon Deacons, tied for third in the ACC with Florida State, have won five of seven after dropping three of four.

Wake is also second in the ACC in rebounding and has outrebounded each of its last five opponents.

The Terrapins have won four of six, however, and are suddenly back in the NCAA tournament picture after losing five of their previous seven.

A win over the Demon Deacons would likely get them closer to a bid and they've had little trouble beating Wake lately.

Maryland has won four straight over the Demon Deacons since 2005.

After winning its first two conference road games, Wake Forest has dropped its last four to take a tumble in the ACC standings, leaving the Demon Deacons fifth in their own conference.

Wake Forest’s road struggles include an 82-76 loss to N.C. State on Feb. 11. The Demon Deacons shot 50.0 percent and held the Wolfpack to 42.6 percent, but got outscored 23-9 at the free-throw line in their fourth loss in five games in the series.

The Wolfpack can likely expect a different Demon Deacons team to show up in Winston-Salem, where Wake Forest is 5-1 in the conference with wins over North Carolina, Duke, and Florida State. Wake is 4-0 ATS in their last four home games. Bodog has all your NCAA basketball odds with Bodog.

Wake Forest will need some high energy entering this contest. The Demon Deacons have lost three straight road games against the Wolfpack since a 55-53 win on March 6, 2005.

The good news for Wake backers is Jeff Teague, second in the ACC with 20.9 points per game, had 27 versus the Eagles on Sunday and appears to be out of a slump.

The Wolfpack have gotten two straight strong performances from senior big man Ben McCauley. He’s averaging 21.0 points and 13.5 rebounds in his last two games.

McCauley was held to four points and two rebounds in N.C. State’s last matchup with Wake Forest, which they won 78-67 on March 8. The Wolfpack lead the series 130-97.
Miami looks to avoid a fourth straight loss and notch a rare win over a Top-10 opponent when it hosts the Wake Forest Demon Deacons tonight.

Miami will begin its toughest stretch of the season against Wake Forest, then a trip to Duke and a home game against North Carolina. The Hurricanes have lost 19 of their last 20 games to Top 10 teams, including two this season.

The Hurricanes will be up against a Wake Forest team that is one of the best defensive squads in the country, holding foes to an ACC-low 36.8 shooting percentage.

One way Miami could hurt the Deacons is with its three-point shooting. The Hurricanes like to shoot 3s, as they average an ACC-high 20.4 per game.
That won't be an easy task with the Demon Deacons taking on the Boston College Eagles, a team they have never beaten in school history. The Eagles are 7-0 all-time in the series, but Wake Forest will be trying to win their 15th straight game when they visit Chestnut Hill tonight.

Wake Forest and BC are the only two teams with wins over North Carolina, the team that was the nation's unanimous No. 1 team for much of the season.

Tyrese Rice had 32 points in BC's 112-73 win over Wake Forest at Conte Forum last Jan. 12, as the Eagles moved to 4-0 against the Demon Deacons since joining the ACC. BC also beat Wake Forest three times in the 1980s. Get your college basketball odds now.

The Navy Midshipmen (2-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) lost at Duke two weeks ago, then beat Rutgers 23-21 as a 6-point home dog. What gives?

Quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada, that’s who. He returned from a hamstring injury last week to lead Navy’s triple-option offense to victory; next up are the No. 18 Wake Forest Demon Deacons (3-0 SU, 2-0-1 ATS), who are No. 42 in the nation in rushing defense at 3.33 yards per carry. The Deacs are 16-point home faves.

Navy first-year coach Ken Niumatalolo knows a few things about the option offense. When Niumatalolo was quarterbacking Hawaii in the 1980s, former Midshipmen coach Paul Johnson was his offensive co-ordinator. Then Niumatalolo was Johnson’s assistant at Navy for six years before taking over the top job.

The Midshipmen are undervalued, and Wake Forest is coming off a win at Florida State and possibly looking ahead to Oct. 9 against Clemson. I like Navy to protect the ball and cover. Get all your NCAA College Football Odds in the Bodog Sportsbook today!
