After apparently taking too many Xanax in an effort to alleviate her fear of flying, the actress apparently collapsed twice during the 10-hour flight from Los Angeles.

One passenger said: “She turned a deathly shade of pale. It was scary.”

Another source added: “There was a massive commotion. Everyone on board was stunned and you could tell the cabin crew were worried."

Once the plane landed, Ryder was rushed to a nearby hospital where she had her stomach pumped. She was allowed to leave the hospital the same evening.

Her spokesman said, “She did fall ill on a flight and as a precautionary measure, was taken to a hospital.

Security staff at a pharmacy were amused and in disbelief when Winona Ryder set off security alarms while leaving the store.

A store employee is quoted as saying: "Winona had a bag of stuff, but she set off the theft alarm when she left the store. When a security guard stopped her, he found make-up she had not paid for. And when she was asked about the make-up, Winona answered: 'I don't know how that happened.'"

The store employee added: "We took unpaid items back and she left the store."

Shamed shoplifter Winona Ryder has announced her engagement to indie rocker Blake Sennett, who plays guitar for band Rilo Kelly.

Winona announced the news at the fall 2008 Valentino fashion show in Paris. she also announced that she is actually not on hiatus from Hollywood, but very much still acting. She and Sennett have been working on a film Water Pill and she’ll soon start filming The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.

Winona's famous exes include Johnny Depp, who famously changed his "Winona Forever" tattoo to "Wino Forever." She has also dated '90's band Soul Asylum’s Dave Pirner, Beck and Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz.
